Capitol Ceremony Celebrates 2014-2015 Wisconsin Title I Schools of Recognition

MADISON — State Superintendent Tony Evers offered congratulations to Bluff View Intermediate School for being among 173 schools in the state that received Wisconsin Title I School of Recognition honors for the 2014-15 school year. “These schools are examples of the success we need in all of our schools to close the achievement gap,” Evers said.

The schools were recognized during a special Oct. 13 ceremony at the State Capitol in Madison hosted by Deputy State Superintendent Mike Thompson. During the program, special recognition went to seven High-Achieving schools and 29 High-Progress Schools. Eight schools earned both High-Achieving and High-Progress honors. Three schools earned the award for a 10th consecutive year, while 10 schools earned the award for a fifth consecutive year.

"We are exceptionally proud of the staff, parents, and students ability to work to beat the odds. This is a direct result of the hard work, attention to detail, and desire to succeed by all three groups. My staff, as well as the BAK staff, have worked very hard over the past years to improve the curriculum for our students. Our parents and students have risen to the expectations of our staffs' loftier goals and as a result, great things are happening" said Aaron Amundson. This is the third year in a row that Bluff View has been recognized by the state for the award.
