I had the pleasure of spending some time in Mrs. Long's 1st grade classroom this morning. Students had gotten a package in the mail as a result of their Flat Stanley mailings. The package contained several cartons of cascarones. Students learned about cascarones and the traditions that accompany them. Each student received a colored egg filled with cascarones (confetti). They all got to break the egg over a friend's head (with his or her permission of course) as a sign of friendship and good wishes. Students also got to take an egg home to share with family. What a fun experience for all involved!
