Special Vision Screening for Students...

Young children of the Prairie du Chien School District will be undergoing a specific vision screening in May. The device that is used is called a Pedia Vision Camera which is a photo screening technology. The Lions’ Club of Wisconsin will be conducting and paying for the screening. All it requires is for the child to look straight ahead while a camera takes a picture of their eyes. By assessing the way the light reflects off the eye, it can detect refractive errors and other eye abnormalities such as strabismus or amblyopia. It can be conducted on children as young as 6 months of age. The recommended age is Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st and 4th grade. These grades will be done and we will also take any younger children at home if the parents bring them in. The dates for BAK will be: Monday, May 14 starting at 8:15 (PK & K), Wed. May 9 at 8:15 for 1st grade and 4th grade around 10:30.
If you do not want your child to participate, please call Mrs. Reilly at 326-3780. If you would like to bring in younger  children, please call for an appointment for one of those days.
